Kats to Face Jamestown CC in WNYAC Tournament

BUFFALO, N.Y. - Oct. 17 - The Erie Community College volleyball team will face Jamestown CC at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in the Western New York Athletic Conference Tournament, held at Genesee CC in Batavia.

The Kats enter the tournament with a 19-8 record and have won their past four matches. ECC has been riding the performance of sophomore middle hitter Rylie Bean (Hamburg, N.Y./Frontier) as she has recorded 95 kills during the streak. Bean broke her own school record for single-season kills with the Oct. 16 win at Alfred State. Bean already has 386 kills, topping the 383 kills recorded in 2011 when she became ECC's first-ever NJCAA Division III All-America selection.

ECC is the tournament's fifth seed while Jamestown CC is fourth. Jamestown CC defeated the Kats in five sets Oct. 4 in Jamestown.

The winner of the ECC/JCC contest willl play Monroe CC, the top seed, in a match scheduled for 3 p.m. The championship contest is set for 5 p.m.
