The Erie Community College men’s track and field team finished fifth out of eight teams at the Brockport Invitational in chilly conditions Saturday afternoon. Meanwhile the women finished eighth.
William Phillipy turned in the best performance of the day for the Kats. He took first in the Javelin with a national-best distance of 54.03 meters. He also was second in the long jump with a jump of 6.18 meters. Brandon Ganschow took fifth in the shot put with a throw of 12.81 meters.
On the track, Kevin Wartinger was second in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 55.97 and Alvin Codner placed third in the 100-meter dash in 11.35 seconds.
For the women, Amanda Solly finished fourth in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:33.79.
