BUFFALO - April 5 - The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) recently announced Erie Community College will be the host institution for the 2013 and 2014 NJCAA Bowling Championships. ECC was previously named the host school for the 2012 championships.
That announcement came as the NJCAA awarded 19 national championship host sites beginning with the 2011-2012 academic year. Proposals from each potential host was reviewed and eventually approved by the NJCAA Championship Events Committee and Board of Directors at their 2011 annual legislative meeting.
ECC has been the host school for the bowling championships since 1999. It also hosted the inaugural championship in 1971 and remained the site until 1987.
The ECC men's bowling team won its 18th national title at the 2011 NJCAA Bowling Championships held at Transit Lanes.
