NFC Honors Kats' Winston, Marshall

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y.  (Oct. 3, 2011) – The Northeast Football Conference today announced Erie Community College freshman running back Deonta Winston (Baltimore, Md./Patterson) was named the league’s Offensive Player of the Week and sophomore wide receiver Jujuan Marshall (New York, N.Y./High School of Graphic Communication Arts) is the Special Teams Player of the Week.
Winston ran for 123 yards and a 50-yard touchdown. He also caught three passes for 27 yards. His 50-yard touchdown run gave the Kats a 20-7 halftime lead as they recorded a 27-20 win over Hudson Valley Community College this past Saturday at Jim Ball Stadium.
Marshall caught a 23-yard touchdown pass and returned a kickoff 73 yards for a touchdown. The kickoff return was the eventual game-winning score.
ECC, now 2-3 overall and 1-2 in NFC play, travels to John Henzes/Veterans Memorial Stadium in Peckville, Pa., to play Lackawanna College at 2 p.m. Saturday.
