Grant makes renovation possible
Erie Community College showcased the hospitality management
department’s renovated smart classrooms and labs at its North Campus at
an event Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010.
The improvements, completed in 2008, were made possible through an
$188,000 grant the college received from the Statler Foundation. The
funds were used to purchase smart teaching stations for three
classrooms, computers, software, furniture, a mural and carpeting.
The labs have been a great instructional tool and the interactive
nature of the classrooms greatly enhances the teaching and learning
techniques of both faculty and students, ECC hospitality management
professor Donald Spasiano said.
Erie Community College meets the needs of a diverse student body and
contributes to regional economic vitality by providing excellent,
flexible, affordable and accessible educational programs in a
multi-campus environment committed to continuous improvement.
