Schnurr's Complete Game Lets Kats Split

TAMPA, Fla. - March 14 - The Erie Community College baseball split its two games Thursday, falling 9-1 to Schenectady County CC before rebounding with a 13-2 win over Ontario Prospects. The Kats, now 5-5, close their 12-game Florida trip with a doubleheader against Waubonsee (Ill.) CC Friday.

Freshman Michael D'Eletto (Wayne, N.Y./Wayne) had three hits in each game to lead the ECC offensive attack. Sophomore Nick Manoukarakis (Toronto, Ont./Birchmount Park) drove in four runs on three hits in the win over Ontario.  He had a bases-clearing triple in the third inning and drove in a run with a single in the fourth. Sophomore Vinny Sherman (North Collins, N.Y./North Collins) also recorded three hits vs. Ontario.
Freshman Mike Ryerson (Perkins, Ohio/Sandusky) drove in three runs to back the pitching performance by by freshman Mike Schnurr (Waterloo, Ont./St. David's). Schnurr threw his second-straight complete game and struck out 11 hitters in the seven-inning effort.
