Kats Split with Anne Arundel CC

ARNOLD, Md. – March 27 – The Erie Community College baseball team recorded a split in Sunday’s doubleheader against Anne Arundel (Md.) Community College.

After suffering a 3-2 loss in the opener, ECC scored two runs in the fifth inning and added two more in the sixth inning to record a 6-4 win in game two. ECC is now 7-9 this season.

Mike Ferracuti (Toronto, Ont./Michael Powers) had three hits and drove in two runs in the nightcap. Kyle O’Brien (Ottawa, Ont./All Saints Catholic) had a pair of hits and scored two runs. Bo Aquila (Alden, N.Y./Alden) had three hits to go with a stolen base, a RBI and run scored.

Cody Alessi (Clearwater, Fla/Eastlake) allowed six hits while pitching a complete game in the opener while Neal Demartin (Grand Island, N.Y./Grand Island) had two hits.

ECC opens its home schedule with a 1 p.m. doubleheader scheduled Tuesday against Lakeland (Ohio) Community College at the North Campus.
