Five members of the Erie Community College women’s lacrosse team received All-Region III recognition for their performances during the 2010 season.
Sophomore midfielder Laura Nerber (Amherst/Sweet Home High School), freshman midfielder Sarah Kirchberger (West Seneca/West Seneca West High School) and freshman attack Kelsey McKeown (Angola/Lake Shore High School) each received First Team recognition. Sophomore defensemen Alyssa Ashcroft (Williamsville/Williamsville South High School) and Jessica Flowers (Cheektowaga/West Seneca East High School) were named to the Second Team.
Kirchberger and Nerber were each in the top-five in the NJCAA in scoring goals. Kirchberger finished the year with 53 goals and 18 assists and Nerber had 52 goals and 19 assists. McKeown had 36 goals and 33 assist. Flowers finished with 20 goals and five assists and Ashcroft had a goal and three assists.
Erie finished the 2010 campaign with a 10-5 record and advanced to the semifinals of the NJCAA Region III Tournament. It was the best record in the five-year history of the program.
