Kats Win Big Red Title; Szpara Posts Top Game, Average

CORTLAND, N.Y. - Nov. 4 - The Erie Community College women's bowling team overcame a 144-pin deficit Sunday to win the Seventh Annual Big Red Invitational held at the Cort-Land Lanes. Behind a Bakers Game performance of 2,552, the Kats' two-day total of 7,341 topped the field by 98 pins.

Individually, ECC's Liz Szpara (Orchard Park, N.Y./Orchard Park) posted the tournament's high game of 244 and had the top average of 180.5 as she rolled a six-game total of 1,083. Alicia Alguire (Angola, N.Y./Lake Shore) was sixth at 922, Morgan Anderson (Orchard Park, N.Y./Tapestry Charter) was seventh at 907 and Gabby Damin (Clarence, N.Y./Clarence was ninth at 852.

The ECC men's bowling team was sixth with a two-day total of 8,047. Individually, Chris Gable (Lackawanna, N.Y./Lackawanna) was 10th at 1,185.
