Erie Community College's Nursing Department presented ECC nursing pins to its graduating students at its spring Nursing Class Pinning Ceremony on Monday, May 15th, 2012 in the Gleasner Hall Auditorium at the school's North Campus.
The nursing pin is a 1,000-year old symbol of service to others and identifies the registered nurse as a professional health practitioner. The pin symbolizes the right to service the health care needs of the public through the practice of nursing, and is unique to each nursing school. It communicates that the wearer is competent, educated and possesses professional attributes in the nursing field.
ECC's nationally accredited Nursing Program prepares students for employment opportunities as registered nurses in hospitals, public health agencies, nursing homes, extended care facilities, home health agencies and other health care facilities.
