The Erie Community College (5-2) lacrosse team traveled to Massachusetts Tuesday-Wednesday, April 6-7 and came away with a pair of 10-goal wins over Dean College. Erie won Tuesday’s game 16-6 and was a 13-3 winner on Wednesday.
Dean led 3-2 early in the game on Tuesday before the Kats rebounded to take an 8-4 lead into halftime. Erie then scored the first four goals of the second half to put the game out of reach.
Freshman Kelsey McKeown led the Kats with five goals and three assists. Sophomore Laura Nerber had four goals and two assists and freshman Jessica Czamara finished with three goals and two assists.
Goaltender Carly Koszuta stopped 13 of the 19 shots she faced to pick up the win.
Erie scored three times in the first five minutes on Wednesday and raced out to an 8-0 halftime lead. Nerber netted four goals and McKeown and freshman Sarah Kirchberger each tallied three goals. Koszuta stopped 17 of the 20 shots she faced in net.
