Second Half Powers Kats to 102-67 Win

BUFFALO, N.Y. - Jan. 10 - The Erie Community College men's basketball team scored 59 second-half points as the Kats recorded a 102-67 win over Genesee CC in Western New York Athletic Conference action Thursday night at the Flickinger Center.

Freshman guard Keron Briggs (Buffalo, N.Y./Sweet Home) was one of five Kats to score in double figures. He recorded 20 points, nine assists, and four steals as ECC improved to 10-3. The Kats, the nation's 16th-ranked team, have now won eight-straight games.

Sophomore guard Devon Elliott (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bishop Laughlin) scored 18 points in a reserve role. Sophomore guards Darale Young (Buffalo, N.Y./Middle College) and Isaiah Jefferson (Buffalo, N.Y./Riverside) added 16 and 13 points, respectively. Freshman center Tobechuckwu Okafor (Ikesa, Nigeria/Maine Central Institute) had 10 points, 10 rebounds and four blocked shots.

Genesee CC (8-6) was led by Vaughn Boler's 20 points.

ECC will play at Mercyhurst North East Tuesday night.
