Barry Named to NJCAA All-America Team

WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. – June 5 - Erie Community College sophomore Brian Barry (Derby, N.Y./Lake Shore) was named today to the NJCAA Division III All-America Team as a first-team selection. Barry, an outfielder/pitcher, hit .464 this past season with a school-record 71 runs batted to go with 24 doubles and 12 home runs. Barry also recorded a 6-3 record as a pitched and struck out a team-high 66 batters in 58 innings. Barry's 71 RBI, 24 doubles, and .837 slugging percentage led the NJCAA Division III. His 12 homers was third in the nation while his batting average was seventh.
Barry, who was also named the 2013 Region III Most Valuable Player, becomes ECC's 13th All-America selection since 1995 and fourth in the past four seasons. Mike Wagner was on the 2012 NJCAA All-America Team while Emilio Arteta and Shane Latshaw were on the 2010 team.
