The Erie Community College Nursing Department presented the ECC nursing pin to 54 graduating students at its Nursing Senior Class Pinning Ceremony Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010 in the Minnie Gillette Auditorium, ECC City Campus, 121 Ellicott St., Buffalo.
The nursing pin is a 1,000-year old symbol of service to others and identifies the registered nurse as a professional health practitioner. The pin symbolizes the right to service the health care needs of the public through the practice of nursing, and is unique to each nursing school. It communicates that the wearer is competent, educated and possesses professional attributes in the nursing field.
ECC’s nursing program prepares students for employment opportunities as registered nurses in hospitals, public health agencies, nursing homes, extended care facilities, home health agencies and other health care facilities.
