BUFFALO, N.Y. - Feb. 7 - The ninth-ranked Erie Community College men's basketball team recorded a 99-61 win over Jamestown CC-Cattaraugus County Thursday night at the Flickinger Center in Western New York Athletic Conference play.
The Kats improve to 18-4 overall and 9-1 in WNYAC play. JCC-CC is 7-15, 0-9.
ECC had four players score in double figures, led by sophomore guard Isaiah Jefferson (Buffalo, N.Y./Riverside) and his 18 points. Sophomore guards Devon Elliott (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bishop Loughlin) and Darale Young (Buffalo, N.Y./Middle College) each added 15 points while sophomore forward Rayshawn Sumlin (Cleveland, Ohio/Martin Luther King) scored 13 points. Freshman guard Keron Briggs (Buffalo, N.Y./Sweet Home) had 10 assists, nine points and seven steals. Sophomore forward Kareem Sulaiman (Bronx, N.Y./Bethel) snared a game-high 12 rebounds.
Jefferson scored five-straight points to key ECC's second-half opening 17-8 run to push its lead to 60-37 with 15:49 remaining.
ECC will play at Jamestown CC at 3 p.m. Saturday.
