Roy Scores Two in Loss

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. - Feb. 7 - The third time was not the charm for the Erie Community College hockey team Tuesday night as the Kats suffered their third loss of the season to Monroe Community College, falling 7-2 at the Cheektowaga Rec Center.

Monroe CC, the nation's top-ranked team, got three goals from Mike Boyd and two more from Erich Haney.
The Kats, now 16-4, were led by freshman forward Scott Roy (Rockland, Ont.) as he scored two goals, including a power-play tally in the second period. Freshman forward Corey Kifner (Williamsville, N.Y.) picked up two assists.
The Kats, the nation's second-ranked team, will travel to Binghamton, N.Y., to play fourth-ranked Broome Community College at 3 p.m. Saturday. ECC returns home to take on Canisius College (ACHA) Sunday at noon.
