ECC names Gary Boughton head women's soccer coach

BUFFALO, NY - Erie Community College named Gary Boughton as their new head women's soccer coach today. Boughton has plenty of experience playing soccer and has coached for years in various positions as well.

Boughton is currently in his fourth year as a soccer professional and currently plays for the Rochester Lancers. He has over eight years combined professional and semi-professional experience. Currently, he holds the NCAA record for assists in a career with 82 and was a two-time All-American while playing for Medaille College from 2006-09.

The Rochester Lancers are part of the Major Indoor Soccer League, where this season, Boughton, led the team in goals and was voted Offensive Player of the Year. He also has played with Sporting KC (MLS), FC New York (USL PRO), and Niagara United SC (CSL).

He grew up in Lancaster, NY and has been the assistant coach for the ECC men's team for the past four seasons, and will remain there during his tenure as head coach for the women's team.
