ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Jan. 31 – The Erie Community College men’s basketball recorded a 70-65 win over Monroe Community College in Western New York Athletic Conference action Tuesday night.
The Kats, ranked 11th in this week’s poll, are now 13-3 overall and 3-1 WNYAC. ECC was led by sophomore guard Sam Hattin (Hamilton, Ont./Our Savior). Hattin, who did not start, scored 18 points, highlighted by three three-point field goals and five free throws. Sophomore forward Uche Ogbonna (Westbury, N.Y./Hicksville) added 13 points and a game-high 10 rebounds for his second double-double of the season.
The win was ECC head coach Alex Nwora’s 252nd with the Kats. George Killian, who coached from the 1954-55 to 1968-69 seasons, holds the school record with 253 career victories.
The Kats will be in action Thursday night against WNYAC member Mercyhurst North East in North East, Pa.
