Two Kats Named to Canadian Baseball Network Team

WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. – Jan. 18 – Two members of the 2011 Erie Community College baseball team were named honorable mention selections to the Canadian Baseball Network’s 12th annual all-Canadian team of college players playing in the United States. The 2011 team was announced Jan. 13, 2012.


Pitcher Alex Dannett (Brampton, Ont.) and second baseman Mike Ferracuti (Etobicoke, Ont.) were chosen by a 41-person voting panel to the squad.


Dannett went 6-1 and posted a 2.13 earned-run average in 2011. He led the NJCAA Division III in ERA during the season and his six wins tied him for most on the team.


Ferracut hit .351 with seven doubles to go with 25 runs batted in and 21 runs scored.


The 2011 Kats went 30-18 and finished fourth at the NJCAA Division III World Series. It was the Kats’ fifth trip to the NJCAA World Series under head coach Joe Bauth.
