ECC to Play Parkland (Ill.) College in NJCAA Tournament

BUFFALO, N.Y. - March 8 - The Erie Community College men's basketball team will play Parkland College of Champaign, Ill., in the first round of the NJCAA Division II Tournament. The teams will play at 11 a.m. (Central) March 16 in Danville, Ill.

The Kats, 26-2 and the fourth-ranked team in the latest NJCAA poll, is the tournament's seventh seed. Parkland is 21-11 and represents Region 24.

Sophomore guard DJ Hoskins leads the Cobras in scoring at 16.17 points per game while freshman guard Shaquille Lowery averages 11.3 points per game. Parkland received four votes in the March 1 poll.

ECC is making its fourth trip to the NJCAA tournament under head coach Alex Nwora. The Kats played in the 2001, 2004 and 2008 tournaments. ECC has a 3-6 record in those appearances.
