Gravelle wins Blue and Gold Classic

Krystal Gravelle won All-Events at the 2010 Blue and Gold Classic

Erie Community College freshman bowler Krystal Gravelle (Niagara Falls/Niagara Falls) won the All-Events at the 2010 Blue and Gold Classic, hosted by Notre Dame University.

Gravelle won the individual portion of the tournament, held January 23-24, by averaging 209 over five games. She started off the tournament with a 154 game and followed up with games of 221, 210, 246, and 214 to best the field of 368 competitors.

The Lady Kats finished in fifth place, also a major accomplishment, in a field of 45 teams. Erie totaled 8,244. The tournament was won by Wichita State University.

Sophomore and returning All-American Gina Maduri (Lockport/Lockport) shot 964 to finish 12th, averaging 192.8 over the five games. She was 81 pins behind her teammate.

The men’s team totaled 7,768 to finish in 48th in the 66 team field.

Jake Kent (Newark, NY/Canandaigua Academy) was the team’s top finisher, shooting 917 to finish 115th.

The teams will finish their regular season tournament schedule on February 15 when they travel to Schenectady for their tournament.
