Kats Suffer 24-10 Loss at No. 7 ASA

BROOKLYN, N.Y. - No. 7 ASA used two second-half touchdowns to record a 24-10 win over the Erie Community College football team Saturday afternoon at Old Boys High Field in Northeast Football Conference action. ASA improves to 8-0 with the win while the Kats are now 2-6.

Following a ASA field goal, Erie CC blocked a punt and took over on the Avengers' 3-yard line. Jamel Abrams (Marine City, Mich./Marine City) scored on the next play to give ECC a 7-3 lead with 11:42 left in the first half. After ASA took a 10-7 lead, ECC freshman kicker Tyler Blackburn (Montrose, Mich./Montrose) made a 50-yard field goal to tie the game at 10 at halftime.

ASA, which entered the game with the NJCAA's top defense, limited ECC to 60 yards in total offense. The Avengers got touchdown runs from Hosey Williams (8 yards) and James Kenner (2 yards) in the second half for the win.

ECC, 2-6 overall, will close the 2012 season Nov. 4 at Monroe College in Bronx, N.Y.
