Latshaw sets college's all-time home run record

Shane Latshaw (Cheektowaga/Maryvale), a sophomore outfielder/pitcher on the Erie Community College baseball team, set the college’s all-time home run record with a grand slam in the first inning against Genesee Community College on Friday, April 23.
Latshaw has hit 17 home runs in his two years at Erie. The previous record was held by former NJCAA All-American Jeff Sargent, who totaled 16 home runs in 1999-2000.
 
Latshaw leads all Region III hitters with 10 home runs and 51 RBI thus far this season for Erie, which currently sports a 26-13 record.
 
The Erie baseball program was established in 1948.
