Kats Split Twin Bill vs. Mercyhurst North East

WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. – April 27 – The Erie Community College baseball team split Saturday’s doubleheader with Mercyhurst North East. The Kats won the opener 4-1 to extend their win streak to 11 games. However, the MNE used a three-run first inning to record a 3-1 win in game two.

Freshman Blair Lakso (Hamburg, N.Y./Frontier) struck out seven while allowing three hits in five innings for the win. Ian Walsh (Wayne, N.Y./Wayne) tossed two scoreless innings in relief.
Freshmen Jake Weiser (Hamburg, N.Y./Frontier) and Nick Caboot (Derby, N.Y./Lake Shore) each had two hits. Caboot doubled in a run and scored in the third inning.
In the nightcap, ECC had four hits. The Kats are now 28-13 overall.
The teams will play two games Sunday in North East, Pa.
