No. 7 Kats Improve to 8-0

SANBORN, N.Y. - Sept. 10 - The seventh-ranked Erie Community College volleyball team improved to 8-0 with three wins Saturday at Niagara County Community College. The Kats defeated Herkimer County Community College 25-12, 25-15, 25-10; Mohawk Valley Community College 25-5, 25-10, 25-5; and SUNY Delhi, 25-11, 25-22, 25-21.

Freshman middle hitter Rylie Bean (Hamburg, N.Y./Frontier) recorded 16 kills in the win over Herkimer CCC and added 11 kills against SUNY-Delhi. A Bean kill allowed the Kats to pull break a 20-20 tie against SUNY-Delhi. Bean finished the day with 39 kills and recorded four aces against Mohawk Valley CC.

Freshman outside hitter Katie Russi (Hamburg, N.Y./Frontier) added 13 kills against SUNY-Delhi. She had 28 kills on the day.

In the win over Herkimer CCC, freshman outside hitter Susan Muldoon (Buffalo, N.Y./Mt. Mercy Academy) recorded 18 kills.

Sophomore setter Danielle Aurellio-Clark (Lancaster, N.Y./Lancaster) recorded 16 aces and 98 assists. Freshman Ashley Viengmay (Cheektowaga, N.Y./Maryvale) had 29 digs, highlighted by 11 against Herkimer CCC.

The Kats will play at Genesee Community College Thursday.
