Strong Second Half Lifts Kats to Win

PARMA, Ohio - Dec. 3 - The Erie Community College women's basketball team erupted for 38 second-half points as the Kats rallied for a 58-50 win over Cuyahoga Community College Saturday afternoon. Sophomore guard Mercedezes Ephraim (Cleveland, Ohio/Maple Heights) led the Kats with 17 points, highlighted by three second-half three-point field goals, as ECC rallied from a 29-20 halftime deficit.

Bianca Dennis (Cleveland, Ohio/Maple Heights) added 10 points and seven rebounds while Charmaine Weaver (Cheektowaga, N.Y./Cheektowaga) led the Kats with 11 rebounds.

Ephraim added four assists and three steals.

The Kats, now 5-2, will play Howard Community College at 3 p.m. Friday in the Winston Nicholas Memorial Classic at Westchester Community College in Valhalla, N.Y.
