Kats Improve to 6-2 with 84-69 Win

BUFFALO, N.Y. - Dec. 1 - The Erie Community College men's basketball team used a 13-3 run midway in the second half to pull away and record an 84-69 win over Cuyahoga Community College Thursday night at the Flickinger Center. The Kats improve to 6-2 and are ranked 14th in this week's NJCAA Division II poll.


Sophomore guard Sam Hattin (Hamilton, Ont./Our Savior) led the Kats, with 18 points. Hattin made four three-point field goals. Eyimofee Edukugho (Warri, Nigeria) added 15 points in a reserve role while Dequan Jones (Brooklyn, N.Y./Pacific) had 11 points and a team-high eight rebounds. Jamill Jenkins (Elizabeth, N.J./Elizabeth) had a game-high eight assists.


Cuyahoga CC was led by Melvin Hunter's 22 points and 12 rebounds.


ECC will play Niagara (Ont.) College Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Flickinger Center.
