Sophomore Shane Latshaw had two home runs, six RBI and a complete game win on the mound to lead the Erie Community College baseball team to a doubleheader sweep over Region III foe Onondaga Community College Saturday in Williamsville. Erie won the opener 14-2 and the nightcap 15-4.
Latshaw allowed two runs on six hits in five innings of work to pick up the win on the mound in the opener. He also was two-for-three with a home run and three RBI at the plate. Freshman Kyle O’Brien with three-for-three with three RBI and sophomore Alex Dusenberry was two-for-two with a triple and an RBI.
Erie pounded out 14 hits in just four innings in the second game. Sophomore Lou Falzone was three-for-three with three RBI. Dusenberry added three more hits to his days total in game two and freshman Austin Beshadle was two-for-four with two RBI.
With the win, Erie improved its record to 10-10 overall and 4-2 and Region III competition.
