Kats Sweep Jamestown CC

WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. - April 21 - The Erie Community College baseball team picked up a pair of wins Thursday, downing Jamestown Community College 7-1 and 4-2.
The Kats, now 16-12, used a three-run first inning in the opener. Neal Demartin (Grand Island, N.Y./Grand Island) had two hits. Demartin singled and scored in the first inning while Bo Aquila (Alden, N.Y./Alden) and Joe Pantano (Fredonia, N.Y./St. Francis) also scored in the inning.
In the second, Mike Wagner (Clarence, N.Y./St. Mary's) doubled and then stole home.
Sophomore Alex Dannett (Brampton, Ont./BCSS) improved to 5-0 with the win as he struck out six batters in six innings.
In the nightcap, Wagner came in relief with one out and the bases loaded in the seventh inning. He retired two hitters, one on a pop-up to the catcher and the other on a line drive to shortstop. Demartin also had two hits in the nightcap.
ECC will play at Corning Community College Friday.
