McKeown's Outburst Leads Kats Past Broome CC

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. – April 23 - Kelsey McKeown (Angola, N.Y./Lake Shore) led the Erie Community College lacrosse team with eight goals in its 17-11 win against Broome Community College Saturday at Jim Ball Stadium.
Melanie Sterlace (West Seneca, N.Y./West Seneca East) scored five goals. Sarah Kirchberger (West Seneca/West Seneca West) chipped in with four goals and a team-high six ground balls. Jennifer Buchnowski (East Aurora, N.Y./Iroquois) led the team with four assists.
Broome got it as close as 15-10 after being down 13-5 at halftime. McKeown then scored a momentum-changing goal to bring the game to 16-10 and halt the Broome rally.
"Jen Buchnowski really led the team out there today and Kelsey McKeown was unstoppable on the offensive end," ECC head coach  Jim Battin said.
The Kats play at top-ranked Monroe Community College Wednesday.
