Betz Belts 2 Homers as Kats Split Twin Bill

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - April 18 - Freshman pitcher Ryan Betz (Cheektowaga, N.Y./Cleveland Hill) hit two home runs to drive in all six runs as the Erie Community College softball team recorded a 6-3 win in game two of its Region III doubleheader against Onondaga CC. OCC won the opener, 9-1.

Betz, who also picked up her third pitching win of the season, hit a three-run homer in both the sixth and seventh innings. Freshmen Kelsey Grosch (Depew, N.Y./Depew) and Jillian Zbytek (Cheektowaga, N.Y./Cleveland Hill) each added two hits in game two. Betz, Grosch and Zbytek also had hits in the opener.

ECC, now 5-9, will continue in Region III action this weekend, playing Jamestown CC-Cattaraugus County Saturday in Olean, before meeting Broome CC in Binghamton Sunday.
