Ophthalmic Dispensing student, professor honored at national conference

Erie Community College Ophthalmic Dispensing student Ramona Richardson was awarded the National Federation of Opticianry Schools 2010 College Bowl title at the American Board of Opticianry (ABO) and the National Contact Lens Examiners (NCLE) National Education Conference Sept. 16-19, 2010 in Cincinnati, OH.
 
Richardson, a resident of Gasport, NY, placed first in the academic competition. The College Bowl is sponsored by the National Federation of Opticianry Schools and Essilor of America.
 
Also at the conference, ECC Ophthalmic Dispensing Professor John Godert was presented with the Dennis Tilley Educator of the Year Award. The award is presented to a faculty member in recognition of his/her distinguished service to opticianry education. A National Federation of Opticianry Schools award plaque will be sent to ECC to be displayed for one year. Godert is a resident of East Amherst, NY.
