BUFFALO, N.Y. - Nov. 17 - The Erie Community College women's basketball team overcame an early 10-point deficit to record a 60-41 win Saturday over Broome CC at the Flickinger Center. ECC trailed 12-2 with 14:12 to play in the first half before going on a 13-2 run to take the lead. After sophomore forward Garisha Greer (Buffalo, N.Y./Bennett) hit back-to-back baskets, the second giving ECC a 15-14 lead at 8:49, the Kats never trailed.
Greer led the Kats with 13 points and three blocked shots. Freshman guard Toree Walker (Muskogee, Okla../Muskogee) added 11 points. Ten of the 12 Kats who saw playing time scored in the contest.
Kelcie Marshall led Broome CC (1-6) with 14 points. The Hornets made only 13 of 61 field-goal attempts.
After Broome tied the game at 16, ECC closed the half with a 13-0 run.
The Kats, now 3-0, will play the Roberts Wesleyan JV at 6 p.m. Monday at the Flickinger Center.
