BUFFALO, NY - For the second straight year, Erie Community College will host the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Bowling Championships at Thruway Lanes. The tournament will begin Feb. 27 with introductions and practice rounds before the matches begin early Friday.
The matches will begin Friday, February 28th at 8 a.m. with the NJCAA doubles event. That will be followed by the singles event starting at 10:15 a.m. Later in the afternoon, the NJCAA 5-man will take place at 12:45 p.m. and that will finish the matches for the day. The NJCAA banquet will be at 7 p.m. that night at Salvatore's Italian Gardens.
On Saturday, the matches will begin again at 8:30 a.m. after an early morning practice. The second part of the NJCAA 5-man will take place first and then the tournament will finish up at 11:30 a.m. with the NJCAA Baker matches. The awards presentation will close out the weekend.
The Lady Kats have already won three matches this year and will look to win the NJCAA Championship for the second year in a row. The Lady Kats celebrated their championship in July when their championship rings were delivered in a ceremony at Thruway Lanes.
