Kats Ranked Third in Hockey Poll

BUFFALO, N.Y. - (Dec. 16) - The Erie Community College hockey team is ranked third in the first NJCAA hockey poll of the season. The Kats, who are 9-3, recorded 13 points. Monroe Community College is 9-2 and ranked No. 1.

The Kats feature the nation's top scorer, Todd Lyness. A sophomore from North Tonawanda, Lyness has 30 points, including a nation-leading 18 goals. Nicholas Friol (Orchard Park, N.Y.) is second in scoring with 28 points (12 G/16 A).

The Kats play Monroe CC Jan. 11.  ECC defeated Monroe CC 2-1 Nov. 17.
