Cummings-Price, Three Kats Honored by Region III

BUFFALO, N.Y. - Feb. 28 - Natosha Cummings-Price, head coach of the Erie Community College women's basketball team, has been named the Region III women's basketball coach of the year, announced today by the league.

Cummings-Price has led the Kats to a 19-5 overall record and a perfect 10-0 mark in Western New York Athletic Conference play. The Kats will face Jamestown CC in the Region III Tournament semifinals at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Flickinger Center. The championship game will be at 1 p.m. Sunday.

Sophomore forward Alexis Gray (Buffalo, N.Y./West Seneca East) was a first-team All-Region III pick. Gray leads the Kats in scoring (13.1 points), rebounds (9.2) and blocked shots (2.1) per game.

Sophomore forward Charmaine Weaver (Cheektowaga, N.Y./Cheektowaga) and freshman guard Bethany Hall (Muskogee, Okla./Muskogee) were both second-team All-Region III selections. Hall leads ECC at 3.1 assists per game and averages 7.2 points per contest. Weaver averages 9.5 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.2 steals per game.
