Hay Leads Kats Past NCCC

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Feb. 4 – Freshman guard Amber Hay (Cheektowaga, N.Y./Cheektowaga) scored a career-high 16 points to lead the Erie Community College women’s basketball team to a 77-56 win over Niagara County Community College Saturday afternoon at the Flickinger Center.

The Kats, now 12-8 overall and 4-1 in Western New York Athletic Conference play, also got 14 points and 10 rebounds from freshman forward Kadijah Kidd (Cheektowaga, N.Y./Cheektowaga). It was her first double-double at ECC.  Sophomore guard Riana Ward (Bronx, N.Y./Wings Academy) added 10 points. Sophomore guard Mercedezes Ephraim (Cleveland, Ohio/Maple Heights) added six assists and five steals.

NCCC was led by Jenna Harrington’s 30 points.

ECC will play Alfred State at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Flickinger Center.
