ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. - May 7 - The Erie Community College lacrosse team placed six members on the All-Western New York Athletic Conference team, announced today by the league.
ECC, which was the WNYAC runner-up, had three members on the first team and three on the second team. Named to the first team were sophomore Destiny Sampson (Irving, N.Y./Gowanda), and freshmen Jacquelyn Hill (Lancaster, N.Y./Lancaster) and Brooklynn Schilling (Lancaster, N.Y./Lancaster). Sampson, a second-team selection in 2012, led the Kats with 23 assists on her way to 41 points. Her 23 assists rank fourth in the nation. Hill recorded 51 points (32 goals/19 assists) while Schilling made 130 saves. Hill's 32 goals are 14th in the nation. Schilling's 130 saves rank third nationally and she's seventh in the nation with a 47.8 save percentage.
Sophomore Gabrielle Stribing (Lancaster, N.Y./Lancaster) and freshman Amanda Patrone (Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg) and Christine Doherty (Lancaster, N.Y./Lancaster) were ECC's second-team selections. Patrone, who led the Kats with 35 goals and a team-high 52 points, ranks 12th in the nation in points. Doherty scored seven goals to go with 11 assists while Stribing netted five goals and made seven assists.
ECC finished 5-6 overall.
