Lackawanna Runs Past Kats

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. - Lackawanna College ran for 409 yards and seven touchdowns as the Falcons recorded a 50-6 win over Erie Community College Saturday afternoon at Jim Ball Stadium in Northeast Football Conference play. The Falcons are now 4-2 overall and 2-2 in conference play while ECC is 2-4 overall and 1-3 in NEFC action.

Lackawanna running backs DeChavon Hayes and Jaymar Anderson each ran for over 100 yards. Hayes ran for 159 yards and three touchdowns while Anderson added 111 yards and a score. Quarterback Davonta Farrell ran for two touchdowns and threw for 141 yards and a TD.

ECC freshman linebacker Devin Coney (New Orleans, La./Independence) tied the school record with 14 tackles (3 solo/11 assists) while freshman defensive back Laquan Middleton (Spring Valley, N.Y./St. Joseph's Regional) added 10 tackles (5 solo/5 assists) in his first home start.

The Kats were led by running back Jacob Wims (Rochester, N.Y./John Marshall) who ran for 55 yards. Freshman quarterback Will Robinson (Weequahic, N.J./Weequahic) ran for a two-yard touchdown with 11 seconds left in the first half to put ECC on the scoreboard. ECC trailed 25-6 at halftime.

ECC will play No. 16 Dean College Oct. 13 in Franklin, Mass., in NEFC action.
