WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. - March 4 – After nine games, the Erie Community College men’s bowling team leads its division by 201 pins after Friday’s action at the NJCAA Bowling Championships at Transit Lanes. The Kats knocked down 3,069 pins during the first three games of the five-man competition to surpass Hudson Valley Community College and Vincennes (Ind.).
Leading the way for ECC is sophomore David Zajac (Niagara Falls, N.Y.) who is the all-events leader with a total of 2,011.
In the team race, Vincennes is second with 8,800 and Hudson Valley CC is third at 8,768.
In the women’s division, Mohawk Valley Community College leads the team standings at 7,930 with Hudson Valley CC in second at 7,791. Schoolcraft is third at 7,459. Erie CC is fourth at 7,427.
Mohawk Valley CC’s Emma Knight now leads the all-events competition at 1,795. She leads by 22 pins over Breanna Moree of Community College of Allegheny County-Boyce.
Day two of the NCJAA Bowling Championships starts at 8:30 a.m. Saturday with the completion of the five-man competition. Baker games are scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. with the awards presentation starting at 2:30 p.m.
