BUFFALO, N.Y. - Jan. 22 - Sophomore guard Devon Elliott (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bishop Loughlin) posted game-high totals of 25 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Erie Community College men's basketball team to a 92-75 win over Niagara County CC Thursday night at the Flickinger Center. Elliott's double-double helped the Kats record their 12th-straight win and improve to 14-3 overall and 5-0 in Western New York Athletic Conference play. NCCC is now 13-6 overall and 4-1 in WNYAC action.
ECC, the nation's 13th-ranked team, had three other players score in double figures. Freshman guard Keron Briggs (Buffalo, N.Y./Sweet Home) added 16 points and five steals. Sophomore guard Isaiah Jefferson (Buffalo, N.Y./Riverside) added 15 points, highlighted by five three-point field goals, and sophomore guard Aubrey Ball (Carrolton, Texas/Creekside) added 13 points.
NCCC was led by Jon Marsh's 24 points.
ECC built a 49-30 halftime lead. NCCC opened the second half with a 10-0 run but the Kats returned their lead to double figures and picked up the victory.
ECC plays at Jamestown CC-Cattaraugus County in Olean, N.Y., Saturday afternoon.
