Erie Community College's Academic Career Pathways and Engineering/ Technology departments will host local students for advanced manufacturing recruitment events on Thursday January 10th and Friday January 11th from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. inside B Building (B401) at the college's North Campus in Williamsville.
Nadine Powell from the Buffalo Niagara Partnership will kick off each day with a presentation from "WNY Dream It, Do It." This new regional marketing campaign works to promote advanced manufacturing careers to young people. Students will then tour six of ECC's technology programs, have lunch, and then go out to tour a local manufacturing company. The departments participating include Industrial Technology, HVAC, Electrical Engineering Technology, Biomanufacturing, Telecommunications, and Environmental Science. Local businesses providing tours include ECC partners Ford UAW Stamping Plant, Keller Technology, Pfannenberg, Cameron Compression, MOOG Inc., Greatbach Medical, McGard, Koike Aronson, Palma Tool, and Aurubis Buffalo Inc.
ECC expects to host 240 students over the two days. The students will be coming from Frederick Law Olmstead, Hutch Tech, Niagara Falls, Charter School for Applied Technology, Alden, West Seneca East, West Seneca West, Tonawanda, Sweet Home, and Pioneer.
