Kats Place Two on WNYAC First Team

BUFFALO, N.Y. (Oct. 15) - Erie Community College's Joe Pantano and Kyle O'Brien were named the 2010 All-Western New York Athletic Conference baseball team today.

Pantano, a freshman shortstop from St. Francis H.S., hit a league-best .480 during the regular season. O'Brien, a sophomore outfielder from All Saints Catholic in Ottawa, hit .321 overall

The Kats also had two players named to the second team: pitcher Mike Tolsma (Tonawanda H.S.) and Jesse Zellner (Tonawanda H.S.). Tolsma recorded a 0.55 earned-run average and 12 strikeouts in 16.1 innings pitched while Zellner ranked among the league leaders with a .345 batting average during the WNYAC regular season.

ECC finished the WNYAC fall season with a 5-8 record.
