Erie Community College will once again host more than 300 students and teachers from Western New York middle and high schools to participate in its 2012 Tech Wars competition from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 17, 2012 in Buildings 5 and 6 at the college’s South Campus at 4041 Southwestern Blvd. in Orchard Park.
At Tech Wars, students will compete throughout the day in over 15 different events, including Habitat for Humanity home design and modeling, bridge design and testing, robotic soccer, catapult challenges, T-shirt logo design, mouse trap powered cars and electric cars. The day’s largest event, the robotic cage match, will feature radio controlled 40-pound fighting robots in a battle royale spectacle.
