Kats Fall in Season Opener

GLEN ELLYN, Ill. – Aug. 25 – The College of DuPage scored in each quarter as the Chaparrals recorded a 30-0 victory over the Erie Community College football team Saturday afternoon in the season opener for both programs.

 Tyreis Thomas led DuPage with 102 rushing yards, including a 78-yard touchdown.

The Kats were led by Ja’Les Hughes (Campbell, Ohio/Campbell) who had seven receptions for 75 yards and two rushes for seven yards. Freshman quarterback Will Robinson (Weequahic, N.J./Weequahic) completed 14 of 32 passes for 138 yards. Robinson’s 32 attempts were the fourth-most attempts in a game by an ECC quarterback.

Sophomore linebacker Kyril Threats (Buffalo, N.Y./Canisius) led the Kats with seven total tackles (three solo/four assists).

The Kats open Northeast Football Conference play against Louisburg (N.C.) College Sept. 1 at noon at Jim Ball Stadium in Orchard Park, N.Y.
