Kats Sweep Jamestown CC

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. - Sept. 18 - The Erie Community College baseball team used a nine-run fifth inning to rally from a 4-0 deficit in game one of a Western New York Athletic Conference doubleheader Sunday. The Kats improved to 8-2 with wins of 10-6 and 3-1.

In game one, sophomore Jesse Zellner (Tonawanda, N.Y./Tonawanda) had a three-run double in the fifth to power the Kats' rally. Joshua Vaccaro (Buffalo, N.Y./Canisius) recorded the win with Mike Wagner (Williamsville, N.Y./St. Mary's) picking up the save.

In game two, Johnathan Solazzo (Mississauga, Ont./St. Paul's) hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning before Adam Grace (Niagara Falls, N.Y./Niagara Falls) drove in a run with a squeeze play. Wagner was credited with the win while Solazzo got the save.

ECC plays Mercyhurst North East in a doubleheader Sept. 25.
