Lacrosse wins at Niagara

The Erie Community College (9-3) women’s lacrosse team ran its win streak to four games with a 13-6 win over Niagara County Community College (0-7) Thursday afternoon in Sanborn.

Niagara opened the scoring with a goal early but Erie scored the next four goals and had a commanding 8-3 lead at halftime.

Freshman Kelsey McKeown led Erie with five goals. Sophomore Laura Nerber had four goals and an assist and freshmen Brittany Loops and Jenna Depczynski added a goal and an assist.

Freshman goaltender Jessica Czamara stopped five shots for the win.

Erie will play its final regular season games this weekend. The Kats will host defending national champion Onondaga Community College at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 24 and will host Herkimer County Community College at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 22.
