LIBERAL ARTS AND SCIENCE/HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCE - CHILDHOOD EDUCATION 1-6
Program Description
The Teacher Preparation program is a special program presently being redesigned through a cooperative effort with Buffalo State College. When the redesign is completed, the program will allow ECC students to achieve an Associate degree at ECC and complete the first two years of a program that will ultimately result in a teaching degree from State University of New York College a Buffalo.
Acceptance into the program is contingent upon several requirements including the possession of a high school diploma or GED and an academic record of general education courses at the high school level indicating that the student shows the ability to complete courses toward the Associate degree within a three-year period. An interview with the department head of the Teacher Preparation program is also required.
Students matriculated in the Teacher Preparation program complete a minimum of 60 credit hours in the required courses.
Transfer to the four-year college will be contingent upon several criteria including a minimum QPA.
This particular program will allow the student to begin a course of study in the Childhood Teacher Preparation program.
