Program Competencies
Upon graduation with an associate in applied science degree in Construction Management Engineering Technology, the graduate will be able to:
- Manage and coordinate residential and commercial building construction projects.
- Draw and interpret basic construction working drawings.
- Supervise and evaluate the erection of wood, steel, masonry, and concrete structures.
- Use CPM and Gantt techniques for planning, scheduling, control, and analysis of construction projects.
- Use the basic principles of structural mechanics to determine applied loads and member loads.
- Design basic members of simple timber, lumber, concrete, and steel structures.
- Design basic heating, cooling, plumbing, and electrical systems for a simple .
- Perform basic material/labor/overhead/profit cost estimates of residential and commercial projects.
- Perform building construction surveys, using a variety of surveying instruments.
- Prepare and interpret basic construction contracts and specifications.
- Interpret appropriate Building Codes and OSHA requirements
