Program Competencies

Upon graduation with an Associate in Science degree in Engineering Science, the graduate will be able to:

  • Enter, with junior standing, one of many engineering colleges, provided grades are acceptable
  • Attack problems; solve them in the traditional engineering fashion of: GIVEN, FIND, SOLUTION
  • Utilize math as a “second language”
  • Develop math sens
  • Use the computer, as a tool, to help in problem solving
  • Perform and write up laboratory tests/experiments in a thorough fashion using proper communications skills
  • Develop an appreciation of the non-technical, human aspects of engineering
  • Recognize the difference between a technician, technologist, and an engineer
  • Appreciate and have an interest in literature
